DAISY Award winner

Sandra Ramirez, a nurse at Mercy Circle in Chicago, recently received The DAISY Award. Ramirez, who cares for assisted living and memory care residents at Mercy Circle, was selected from all the nominations submitted between October and December 2025 by residents, their families and peers among Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC)’s 25 mission-based not-for-profit senior living communities in eight states.

The DAISY Award is an honor given every three months by THSC, which is part of a Catholic health system, to recognize an extraordinary nurse who exceeds expectations for senior living residents and hospital patients. The award was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at the age of 33 from an autoimmune disease. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.
